Youth Power Project

Strengthening reproductive health awareness and youth-friendly services.

Youth-led Reproductive Health & HIV Prevention

The Youth Power Project, implemented by Okoa New Generation, is a youth-led initiative designed to strengthen reproductive health awareness, HIV prevention, and access to youth-friendly health services among adolescents and young adults. Recognizing barriers such as stigma, misinformation, and limited access to confidential care, the project uses peer outreach, school-based education, and digital engagement to promote informed decision-making.

Through interactive sessions, youth health fairs, and mentorship programs, the project builds knowledge around HIV transmission, testing, SRHR rights, and healthy relationships. It connects young people to local health centers that offer confidential services including HIV testing, counseling, and family planning.

The project emphasizes peer leadership, training young educators to serve as role models and facilitators in their communities. These youth mentors help normalize conversations around reproductive health and reduce stigma, especially in rural areas.
