Empowering Adolescent Girls for SRHR & Equality

The Girls Voice Project, implemented by Okoa New Generation with support from Voice Global, is a transformative initiative that empowers out-of-school adolescent girls and young women to take control of their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The project addresses unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortions, and gender-based violence (GBV) by promoting informed decision-making, behavior change, and community engagement.

Peer-led Education

Girls access SRHR education, life skills, and safe spaces for peer learning and mentorship.

Youth-friendly Health Services

Linkages to counseling, family planning, and SRHR support without stigma or barriers.

Economic Empowerment

Girls receive entrepreneurship training and startup support to enhance independence.

Key Achievements

Reached over 1,200 adolescent girls with SRHR education, life skills, and leadership development.
Established 15 girls’ empowerment groups for peer learning, solidarity, and mentorship.
Trained 60 youth mentors to lead SRHR and gender equality sessions in their communities.
Linked 300 girls to youth-friendly health services for counseling, family planning, and psychosocial support.
Supported 45 girls to launch small businesses, boosting financial independence and decision-making power.
Conducted 8 community forums with parents, leaders, and authorities to promote girls’ rights and reduce stigma.
